SUMMARY:Reliable Recycling for Houston – Community Webinar
LOCATION:, TX
DESCRIPTION:Reliable Recycling for Houston – Community Webinar\n\n12/04/25 12:00 PM CST\n - 12/04/25 01:00 PM CST\Description:\nHouston has a serious solid waste and recycling problem. This year thousands of Houstonians have called 311 to report missed trash and recycling pickups. Our recycling rate is estimated to be just 16%–half the national average. And every year, millions of tons of waste, including single-use plastics, end up in landfills or as litter in our bayous and parks.\nWe need more pickup trucks, more transfer stations, and more public education campaigns on recycling to meet the needs of Houstonian’s solid waste management. By adopting a solid waste fee, Houston can finally invest in proven solutions–reliable curbside collection, stronger recycling programs, composting, and waste reduction initiatives. Cities across the country are already doing this, and it works. With those investments, we can cut pollution, clean up our streets and bayous, and get Houston back on track to meet its zero waste goals. RSVP to attend our webinar here
