SUMMARY:Take Action to Protect Texas Mountain Lions by May 26th
LOCATION:, TX
DESCRIPTION:Take Action to Protect Texas Mountain Lions by May 26th\n\n05/25/26 12:00 AM CST\n - 05/26/26 11:45 PM CST\Description:\n\n\nTake action to protect Texas Mountain Lions!\nYou can help Texas mountain lions by filling out this form to support a new regulation that requires anyone who kills a mountain lion in Texas to report it. Texas has two mountain lion populations, far West Texas and South Texas. Mandatory harvest reporting would provide data that is needed to determine population size, health, and trends regarding mountain lions. Human-caused mortality is the primary cause of Texas’ mountain lion deaths, though the numbers are unknown because harvest reporting is not currently required. Landowner privacy would be maintained as only the county name would be reported, which will not be disclosed to the public.\n\nTPWD is soliciting public comments on this issue. Access the form here: https://tpwd.texas.gov/business/feedback/public_comment/proposals/202605_mountain_lion_harvest_reporting.phtml , then provide your name and county of residence, choose “Agree Completely” after reviewing the proposal, make any optional comments, then press Submit. \n\nFor more info: https://www.texasnativecats.org/blog/please-act-now
