Building Resilient, Sustainable Health Systems

Date/Time
7/26/2026
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Central
Event Description
At Houston Methodist, our Office of Sustainability is working to advance environmental stewardship as
an extension of healing — caring not only for patients, but also for the communities and environments
that influence human health. Join Jason Fischer, Director of the Office of Sustainability, Houston
Methodist, as he explores how healthcare sustainability intersects with faith, service, and responsibility
to future generations through initiatives focused on energy and resource conservation, waste reduction,
sustainable purchasing, clinical sustainability, and environmental health. The session will also highlight
how collaboration across healthcare, research, and community partnerships can help create healthier,
more resilient communities while supporting the broader mission of caring for creation and one
another. Time for interactive discussion with the speaker will be provided. Please register for this talk on
www.eventbrite.com at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/1990568243200. This virtual event will use the
WebEx platform. Registrants will receive a separate e-mail with WebEx connection details. All
registrants will get a link to the recording of this talk. Contact Lisa Brenskelle at gcs.lrc@gmail.com with
