FREE TREE GIVEAWAY COURTESY OF TREES FOR HOUSTON
It's Texas Arbor Day, y'all! Nature lovers of all ages are invited to Jones Park for a day of discovery, celebrating one of our most important natural resources - trees! Learn about the importance of our forests and how you can help conserve such a vital, but endangered, ecosystem at our Inaugural Forest Fest.
Take pictures with Smokey Bear courtesy of the Texas Forest Service. Visit the pumpkin patch & decorate a curcurbit for your thanksgiving table.
Visitors can enjoy facepainting, wildlife presentations, and 20 different educational exhibits. Native plants and concession sales available from Jesse Jones Park Volunteers.
Great for families of all ages, school groups, and Scouts. Three-gallon native trees provided by Trees for Houston - learn how to plant them for success & shade!
Note: Pets will not be allowed in festival areas.
Scouts & community groups: contact JesseJonesPark@pct3.hctx.net if your group would like to participate in a tree planting party at the park for community service.
Ground surface is mostly grass; wagons encouraged for young audiences & to carry your plants back to your car.
