Event Description
Join Melissa Suter, PhD, of Baylor College of Medicine, and Lance Hallberg, PhD, and Claire Hallmark, MPH, both of University of Texas Medical Branch, for a talk highlighting the role of the Community Engagement Core (CEC) in fostering meaningful, bidirectional communication between researchers and communities impacted by Superfund site chemical pollutants. They will discuss strategies for partnering with local leaders and residents to co-develop prevention and intervention approaches aimed at reducing exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other contaminants. Finally, the presentation will showcase how these collaborative efforts inform research directions, build capacity, and advance environmental health equity in vulnerable populations.
