11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Central
TAEP Luncheon Meeting (Please note: This is an in-person event)
Speakers: Richard Gilly, ESQ., Managing Partner RPG Law Group
Speaker Bio: 2025 Patent Law Year In Review
Richard began his legal career as a corporate attorney at IBM Corporation after graduating from Harvard Law School in 1987. At IBM, he advised engineers, technologists, and company management at several research and development sites, including advising on regulatory compliance issues associated with semiconductor processing & packaging, and the first and only U.S. commercial x-ray synchrotron for silicon wafer processing at the time. He transitioned to private law practice in intellectual property law 25 years ago, and represents clients in Texas and nationwide. As such, RP not only helped clients acquire patents to their innovations, but also helped clients assert their patent rights or defend against patent infringement claims.
Richard Gilly formed RPG Law Group in Houston three years ago with two patent attorney colleagues, in order to offer cost effective legal services for today's economics. At RPG Law Group, Richard assists companies and consultants across a broad range of the energy and environmental spectrum. Mr. Gilly has helped protect and license developments in solar, wind, and other emerging technologies, as well as helping to protect innovative processes, techniques, and equipment useful to more traditional industries. As such, Mr. Gilly works with consultants and other vendors to utility companies, cement manufacturers, and bulk material suppliers, as well as upstream exploration and production innovators, themselves, in the oil & gas industry and other heavy industries. Recent efforts include protecting innovations in photovoltaic and wind-turbine efficiency, sequestration of mercury, beneficiation of coal fly-ash, and anti-slagging compositions, treatments, and equipment.
