Join Bayou Preservation Association for Living Roots: A Guided Walk Through Bayou Natives, a free interactive walking tour exploring the cultural and ecological significance of native plants along Houston’s bayous.
Led by Eddie Garcia of Habitat Walking Tours, an intersectional storyteller and nature guide, this experience invites participants to see Houston’s green spaces as living cultural archives. Along the walk, attendees will learn about the traditional uses of native plants, from medicinal practices to their enduring cultural importance, while deepening their connection to the landscapes that shape our city.
This program offers a unique opportunity to rediscover Houston’s bayous through stories of nature, history, and stewardship.
